This reimagining of the famous franchise takes Lara back to when she was 21, full of ambition and drive, and on her first big expedition to find the lost Japanese kingdom of Yamatai. Rhianna worked with Crystal Dynamics as Lead Writer for Tomb Raider, helping to build the narrative from a synopsis to a full game.

Rise of the Tomb Raider

Rhianna reprised her role as Lead Writer for the sequel to the critically acclaimed Tomb Raider reboot. In Rise of the Tomb Raider players once again take on the role of Lara Croft as she ventures into Siberia in search of the legendary city of Kitezh while battling the sinister paramilitary organization, Trinity, who intends to uncover the city’s promise of immortality. Rhianna and the narrative team won the WGA award for Achievement in Videogame Writing for their work on the game.

Lost Words: Beyond the Page

Drawing on her own experiences of grief and loss, Rhianna helped craft Lost Words: Beyond the Page, a narrative-driven, atmospheric puzzler set inside the pages of a young girl’s diary, by Sketchbook Games/Modus. Following an immersive story, players guide an aspiring author through the wondrous fantasy world of Estoria, where words wield immense power. Players interact with the words themselves to solve challenging puzzles and unique platforming segments to progress through an evolving landscape.

Overlord

Working with Triumph Studios and Codemasters as writer, Rhianna acted as co-story designer and co-audio director on Overlord and its expansion, Overlord: Raising Hell. The Writers’ Guild of Great Britain’s Best Videogame Script award was bestowed upon Rhianna for her work on the game. “Overlord: Raising Hell is probably one of the best games currently available on PS3, blessed with clever design, engaging characters, sharp dialogue and a moreish appeal that drags you through even when the going gets tough.” Eurogamer “Out in front stands the writing which I’m prepared to call quite good.

Overlord II

Carrying on her celebrated work on Overlord, Rhianna returned for the sequel as writer, co-story design and voice director. Once again working with Codemasters and Triumph Studios, she helped spin another twisted fantasy tale about the rise of the next generation of evil, from Overlad to Overlord. “The classic humour of the series returns, and Rhianna Pratchett has once again performed brilliantly with the script for Overlord II.

Mirror’s Edge

Rhianna worked as writer and co-story design on Mirror’s Edge, a brave new IP set in a near-futuristic world where information is heavily monitored and parkouring couriers known as Runners have become the safest way to transport sensitive communications around. As well as working on this award-winning first-person action-adventure game, Rhianna also wrote the 6-part Mirror’s Edge mini-series for DC Comics.

Overlord: Dark Legend

Rhianna took on the roles of writer and voice director for this prequel to the Overlord series, Dark Legend. Overlord Dark Legend is a brand new action adventure steeped in fairy tale lore with sinister, satirical twists. Set in a time before the original game (Overlord, 2007), players step into the role of a new younger Overlord and revel in command of the most vicious, yet lovable little critters in gaming the Minions. Forming a unique rampaging army, the Minions are a demonic, slavish, and loyal horde of imp-like critters predisposed to violence.

A revival of the cult classic Thief video games designed as a reboot for the series. Rhianna joined the team to work on story and cinematics for this dark fantasy world inspired by Victorian, Gothic, gaslight fantasy and steampunk aesthetics. Rhianna was a writer on this award-winning music-action game that combines puzzle solving and enemy vanquishing with exploration. Beatbuddy features six beautifully hand-drawn worlds, each with their own amazing soundtrack composed by industry legends such as Austin Wintory, Parov Stelar, chiptune-genius Sabrepulse, the La Rochelle Band. The game has sold more than half a million copies and won multiple international awards both from the music and games industry.
